My issue after 3-plus years of keto and 5-plus years (including keto) of very-low-carb, is that I seem to be perpetually in a high state of gluconeogenesis. I _have to_ eat nearly zero carb (I'm high protein, because I'm trying to preserve muscle mass at 60) to keep my blood sugar under 110 or 120, even moderately fasted. If I add even a small amount of "healthy carbs" I seem to fill up my glycogen reserves and run between 120 and 130 at odd times (several hours after eating.) I'm wondering if reading the Atkins book for clues on adding back healthy carbs will help. After Jason Fung actually endorsed it, I'm thinking about Lumen, but there are many detractors, and I don't particularly like being told what to eat spur of the moment. I've been trying to eat a lot of low-carb salads lately (with a generous wild salmon portion), and it's not working for me. I lost a lot of weight with -low carb- keto and fasting, but I think too much of it was muscle (possibly because I wasn't doing resistance training), which is why I went high-protein. I gained back about 20% of what I lost, much of it skeletal muscle, and I'm much healthier aside from blood sugar. I seem to be leaning out (and losing fat again, but mostly because I do whole-day and two- or three-day fasts most weekends.) I'm a bit baffled at this point.
Hej Sten, tack för en fantastisk kanal. Kan du tänka dig att göra videos om hur man höjer sitt goda kolesterol? Gärna också en video om fördelarna med solljusexponering, så som du ser det. Hälsningar Linda
Congratulations 👏👏👏I am trying my best to loose weight intermittent fasting 18/6 OMAD but blood sugar still high and I an not losing weight it does not matter what I eat insulin goes up! Now my doctor diagnosed me with diabetes but I have no symptoms whatsoever of of diabetes. I an not losing the weight. I am really confused and scared. I also have no gallbladder so I p😅⁹
@NansGlobalKitcheni had a similar experience. I usually fast for 21 hours plus before my meal. When I decided to fast for a longer period it seemed to kickstart weight loss. Also I always walk after my one meal for the day. I usually do 3 miles in the morning and 2 miles after dinner. This is working well for me. I'm 68 and coping easily with this.
Thank you for your great videos. As a doctor in the UK (neurosurgeon), I have gone from 73kg prediabetic to 66kg non-diabetic doing low carb as per your advice. I now give your RUclips channel details to any of my patients who are overweight and/or diabetic/prediabetic, also family/friends/work colleagues.
I bet you have ops at night as well. That [sleep deprivation] increases blood sugar levels. When you have to do that, keep no-carb approach, it will help.
7 days sound right, to get the body into that state where after that, one can continue with low carb/stabilized carb feeling really good about it. A decade ago, I found this and sometimes (due to unavoidable parties, etc), the blood sugar go crazy again and what I do to destabilise everything, is just to go for a long, slow exercise (mine was swimming, and I'd do about 5 hours of that).
@@bernardsoh3559 Exactly, i walk for a total of 2.5 hours a day and mild bike 30-40 minutes a day. After each meal i always do 10 min of some kind of exercise.
I've been eliminating most sugary stuff from my diet. I buy a specific black currant jam but now when I have it on bread it tastes way too sugary so I am going to quite buying it and try and find some sugarless substitute.
Мне не нравится его трепотня о том как здорово жить на низком уровне энергии. Лучше бы он сказал коротко : чем питаться он советует и сколько раз в день или в неделю.
One of the best explanations (if not the best!) on this subject.... my Dr. doesn't have the time to go into this detail. One word to describe this segment....excellent!
this is exactly what I needed, I often fasted for 72h over the weekend but I've fooled myself recently into thinking that I NEED food... I really dont!
I was in the hospital in January and The Nurses were saying they see the I eat very healthy and I told 2 of them about Dr Ekberg and the other doctor Berg, They are now following both doctors
This is the most complete summary of how to live healthy, explaining metabolic syndrome perfectly. It addresses lies about how good carbohydrates are and how bad fats are, when in reality it is the opposite of what we have been told. And at the end he talks about the intestinal flora and its role in a healthy life. Thank you Dr. for such an invaluable video. I really congratulate you. Greeting from Caracas/ Venezuela 🇻🇪
I definitely believe it. I worked in a hospital.. Say you are already a dialysis pt. about broke your hip and was hospitalized, If a Dr. Sees his patient in the hospital while they are receiving dialysis, the Dr. Receives more$$
This is why I can never understand people feeling "hangry" when they are just a few minutes late from their meals. I have been eating once a day for years, so I basically fast for 23 hours each day and never feel "hangry"; even toward the end of the fast. I think being "hangry" could be a sign of overdependence on sugar/carbs.
I did my best to do that around 10 years ago however I was unable to eat enough in one sitting and slowly ended up seriously underweight. Got called into the office and sent home saying don't come back until you have been to the doctors and sorted yourself out. I was only probably eating around 800 calories before being full. But fair play to those who can do 1 meal per day.
@@VintageLynx I have to make sure I eat enough or I fall back to 800 calories a day as well, so I write down what I eat every day and review it the next day to check the level of protein, calories and carbs. Some days I make sure I eat twice a day within my window just to get past the immediate feeling of fullness or I keep almonds at hand and in sight to get used to eating more.
carbs, i used to love bread, always hungry always ready to eat 'something' never refused anything. stopped bread and feel much calmer and dont even feel hungry until meal time and i dont over eat anymore.
51 kilos,,,, that's epic.... With the Docs help, I cut about 50lbs. Finding my baseline metabolic rate,, was a real Grail. Compliments of the Doc, again.
I always questioned the "eat something to get your blood sugar up". First thing that comes to mind are the Snickers commercials. How anyone would think those are healthy or even helpful for giving someone energy is beyond me.
@@carolinejackson9405 I'd forgotten that! And, while I didn't eat many candy bars, Mars bars were a favorite, back before they had caramel. I don't think I've had one in at least 50 years!
Been following everything I've learned from Sten for more than a year now. 🎈 Not only have I lost 35 kg. I'm no longer diabetic type 2. Psoriasis has bettered. My bipolar diagnose doesn't feel as debilitating as before. Mood more stabilized. Circadian rhythm stabilized. My gratitude is hardly expressible in words. Thank you Dr. Sten Ekberg❣
thank you; i know you might hear this all the time if you don't im sorry but this information changed my life. my doctor was over the moon that with just 16 units of insulin, after every meal, that my blood glucose "only" got up to 180. Now, 4 weeks in, i havent taken a shot in 18 days and the high of my glucose has only been 113-115 during that time. if i followed the "norm" i'd still be stabbing myself with the same thing, insulin, that was already so elevated that my blood sugar was at 400+ (yes, heart attack, 5 strokes blah blah blah). You give me hope that i can ditch the other meds; EVENTUALLY.
Fantastic video! I used a CGM for 14 months and found if I ate a carnivore/keto diet my glucose was always stable. I shoot to eat carnivore/keto 90% of the time now. It makes it easy to know what to eat. Plus I feel great and have lost weight!
After i was diagnosed with pre diabetes i came to realise that how incredibly hard it is to find low carbonhydrate food in a normal grocery store where i live, no wonder we hawe this "epidemic" of this type of medical issues among people here... It was not so in the 70-80s here.
@@chloeuntrau4588 I fully agree on that, but i just can't find it where i live, and there are not many local farmers still around and those who are still around here can't realy process food on their own farm for sale anymore. It was still in the 80s, i am not going into politics here, but but since the early 90s practicaly all small farms who could did dissapear in my country unfortunately. Now it is just monoculters of grain growing anywhere, but i can't eat that much grain anymore because of medical reasons.
@@DAOnero Must have. My A1c jumped to over 7, having been under that the previous quarter. My doctor at the time had me purchase a glucose meter and keep a spreadsheet of readings from multiple times per day. I don't remember what the readings were, but I think they were all over 130. Of course, my insulin must have skyrocketed from the continuous eating too, but that doctor (who I actually fired later because he was not fasting friendly) never measured it. I now go to a doctor more attuned to metabolic issues.
In France we have an old saying: Eat like a king in the morning, like a prince at noon, and like a pauper in the evening. I've found that old ways are always wise, ancestors always known for example the good influence of apple cider vinegar (lower the glycemic spike by 20,30%) without modern science.
One thing that didn't get mentioned that is destroying health in America is the problem of ultra-processed seed oils. Soy, canola, palm, etc etc - are basically oxidized industrial waste that might actually be worse than sugar in our diet.
I decided to make use of those oils for their intended purpose the other day: I applied it to some squeaky door hinges! Didn't realize it at the time, but when I was eating it, it was a major contributor to my heartburn.
@@JH-nj8up thanks! To qualify it, I should've said "In this video..." Dr Ekberg does such fantastic work with his teaching and guidance. I will be sure to go back and review that video.
I appreciate your understanding and explanation of blood sugars. I want to add something else. Over the past two years, I have experienced eight surgeries, and the foot is still not fixed. Originally I had two surgeries to correct the foot, but the wound became infected and the next five surgeries were used to try to arrest the infection. I experienced three stays in the hospital and an allergic reaction to the antibiotics. Finally, they removed all the hardware, because the infection had settled in the Teflon adhesions and anchors for the screws. I am still waiting for the next surgery, having been put in a cast to reduce the swelling in the joints. I say all of this to point out that any pain or wound in the body, causes stress, which raises blood sugar. I began the year going on a carnivore diet, no carbs .My most recent A1C was 5.6. My sugar still raises due to the pain I endure. It causes frustration, because if my sugar is high, the doctor won't operate. But in order to lower the sugar, I take oral medicine, which raises the insulin and causes weight gain. It's a vicious cycle, but I want others to know, it's not just what you eat, though that is a great part of it. There are other issues including illness, or an injury, or even some medications that can also raise your blood sugar.
@@Esselle1 I've not done OMAD, but currently I'm on a 19-5 eating window. Fasting is something totally different. Your body has a time to totally rest and your digestive system benefits tremendously. Any time you are still eating within the 24 hour period, you are not getting the full benefits of fasting. I would recommend that you begin slowly. Start with only about 3 days. Then next time increase the time. You will find that once you get accustomed to the process, your body will adjust, and you'll be able to increase the amount of time fasting. Just remember that the body can only survive about 3 days without water. It can survive 40 days without food. And when fasting, remember that whatever you are putting in your body will be magnified. I only use bottled or purified water during a fast. The chemicals that are put in public water will be intensified in your system. I also try to eliminate many of my supplements and prescriptions. You need to check with your doctor about this step, though. Just be prepared that many doctors do not know how to direct you through a fast and you need to know what to say if they try to tell you not to do it. My doctor has learned not to try to talk me out of it. He knows I understand my body and I'm careful in what I'm doing.
You made me curious and I have checked my glucose level one hour after dinner: it's 91. I'm diabetic type 2, I'm on a real low carb diet, walk a lot and lift some weight three times a week, I'm controlling easily due to this combination. I thank you for the suggestions I've got from your videos.
Ya know you're right. The better a person knows a subject , he can explain even to entry level people. Dr Ekberg knows so well what he is talking about, and also has the heart of a teacher. Very fortunate for us.
Thank you, I've lost over 80 LBS in 5 months from 270 to 192 now, also went from A1C of 10.6 to 5.2 all in 5 months, You and Dr Ken Berry's channel saved my life.. Thank you again!

Good morning Dr. Ekberg! Thanks for such a great video! Thank you for always justifying my keto/low carb lifestyle! It can be demoralizing to go to the grocery store, and see all the products I can't touch. That and all the restaurant food that is simply not good for you! @@MrGeorgewf I think if it does not cause gallstones in a first few monts the your body gets useto fasting I don't think there shoul be a problem. I fasd 8-10 hours a day I have to take some medicine with food in the morning and same thing in the evening so thats why I am doing this way.
Help! I need to find a low-carb friendly doctor. The directories I've found are too new to be useful. My doctor told me "We're not about to change the way we practice medicine. Adopt a low fat diet and take your statin." So, I'm done with him. Thanks, Scott
Two of the very best! Anyone who hasn't read Dr Fung's books really needs to! The Obesity Code and The Diabetes Code are two of the best books on the subject, IMO. Even if you do t think you have Diabetes or don't think you're Obese, read both. The information still applies.
I have some unknown congenital neuropathy, can do about 30-40 hours fasting before body goes weak, tremmors, nausea, dry heaves, vomittimg, fever, bad headaches, etc. So I stick to OMAD, and maybe every 2-4 weeks, try to push a bit longer, then eat extra if necessary. Most veggies aren't well tolerated. But I do ok with broccoli or lightly blanched or lightly steamed kale or spinach, rather than raw. I don't do well with too many hard nuts, they blowright through me. A modest amount of carbs via a bit of rice, pasta, or bread seems to make my body happy. ½-¾ cup of rice, 2-4 slices of bread, 6-8oz pasta. Mostly avoid sugary foods, fruits, veggies, but drink OJ one gallon jug a month or so as needed, especially if heavy sweatting leads to nausea, as electrolyres get restored. A banana now and then, 2-4 a month or less. Could use testing to see how bad things are. Not great but not horrible either. Fair bit of room for improvement. Could do with weight loss, gut health, inflammation, pain, and cognitive decline management, as well as do absolutely everything to protect my dwindling muscle and neuron health.
I’m 84 and a type 2 diabetic. Suffered 3 heart attacks over 15 years ago. My Cardiologist insists on maintaining a blood sugar above 100, and preferably 120 at all times! Below 100 it’s hard to stand and stay conscious!
Thank you so much for this video ! I‘m one of the 2/10 who are very insulin sensitive but have gut dysbiosis / leaky gut issues . And I would much appreciate you talk about this in another video !!! ♥️♥️
I think that you are forgetting one key aspect to measure, Sten, and that is how you feel from the time you get up to the time you go to bed. If you wake up fired up and ready to go and you have sustained energy all day and then you sleep well in a normal pattern then there is no reason to suspect that there is anything wrong with your body function. After 12.5 years of eating a nutrient dense diet I can tell when something is out of balance and correct it quickly without tests or medical intervention. Thanks for an informative and thought provoking video, I hope that people are starting to get your message.
I don't remember the source, but I read somewhere that your blood sugar drops by ~20-30% if you do some light exercise right after a meal. I think they recommended a 10 minute walk around the neighbourhood.
Excellent information! I feel it's a very honest explanation that is very understandable by the lay person. Other doctors should be introduced to providing such helpful information and fewer medications prescribed.
I'm so glad you discussed TOLERANCE. I know I cannot tolerate ANY carbs. My 622 days on carnivore then eating a leafy green as an experiment proved that to me very quickly. it's not worth adding them back. I feel super healthy just eating my meat.
Vegitarians will argue about that but most will go back at eating meat sooner or later. There is some who don't very small % bit those are the ones who will argue LOL
The part about 'Are carbs evil?' Is so true. I recently changed my diet and cut out all starchy cards and I had to deal with a severe constipation problem! I have since learned to maintain a balance.
I am not over weight yet few years ago i was pre-diabetic. I since cut down on sugars and exercise much more. Now my blood sugar is within the normal range.
Doc I gave up eating plants. I went full carnivore and never going back. I lost nearly 20 pounds without exercising. Just walking, stretching, beef, salt and water.
Cut added sugar two years ago. Lost 30 lbs without trying, immune system is 10 times stronger, and it seems to have reversed seasonal hay fever. I eat whole foods and just avoid everything and anything processed if I can. I still enjoy fruit and whole grains, no problem.
Не поражайтесь приведенным цифрам сахара 70-100. Это в mg/dL. Чтобы привести к привычным нам mmol/L надо поделить на 18. Т.о. эти цифры превращаются в 3,89 - 5,55. Т.е. то, что нам привычней
First, thanks very much for all of these 'live saving videos'! It changed my lifestyle, my BMI drasticly and my feeling well. Doing a lot of sport all of my life, but never realy understood the Mechanismen of metabolic. I share this knowledge with family and colleges and most have no idea about it. So, please continue 🙏🙏🙏
Either not all calories behave the same or we're given an inaccurate calorie count for some foods. I notice weight gain from the same number of calories from cereal and crackers vs. eggs and bananas. Processed ingredients are a problem.
Calories are definitely not equal. While over eating anything will make a person fat, but just as you experienced, the processes stuff is way more "effective" at ballooning someone up, not to mention giving you other health issues.
I’ve heard that some foods require much more energy to digest. I think they mentioned that when eating almonds, 30% of the calories are used just to digest them. If you’re eating food that is ground and processed, a lot of the work has already been done. I also suspect that when we eat certain foods, some of the food isn’t fully broken down and absorbed and exits the body without contributing any calories.
@amieraz correct. I've trialled this lol. Give me dried fruits and nuts, my weakness, lots of them, highhh sugar and carb low fat, not only do I feel the spike and crash in energy but a few days and the scales are up alot... I can consume alotttt of nuts, 95% choc, clean Crackle, post a meal - very high cal and fat, and the scales still go up, given the amount I can consume to see the same rise on the scales is pretty fascinating.
Think of it like this. If we as humans were not designed to eat a variety of foods from different sources, then we wouldn't have a pancreas! The exocrine pancreas produces enzymes that help to digest food, particularly protein. The endocrine pancreas makes the hormone insulin, which helps to control blood sugar levels. That in of itself tells me that mother nature intended on us to eat and enjoy life! The problem is all our foods these days are processed and contain God knows what kind of harmful chemicals. Not only that, but we tend to overindulge on everything then sit around and watch TV or play on the computer! Great video!
Очень интересная и полезная информация. Хотелось бы для русско-язычных людей переводить значения в привычные для нас. Например, уровень глюкозы в крови. Здесь говорят о цифрах 80, 90, 170 и т.д. А для нас это какие? 4, 5? 7,8?
UK won't test insulin even if you ask. GP's aren't allowed to access that test via NHS. So you can't test it unless you pay privately (after already funding the NHS via taxes).
Dr.Ekberg Thank you for helping so many people around the world, I be waiting for Friday morning video My only thing I can say that I wish you could make a new video each day or a chat room for your fans. God bless you
I ate carnivore for nearly a year as an elimination diet, but I am now left with issues when trying to add healrhy foods back in. I am having massive spikes and dips and I assume it is due to such low insulin (my fasting insulin is 2.7). I've heard it doesn't take long for the body to adjust but it is not yet working for me and it has been months of trying. My sleep is destroyed and glucose regulation is dysfunctional, plus I have excessive hunger issues even though I eat enough. Any advice or has anyone experienced this?
some people can’t eat anything but meat due to the sensitivity and illnesses that you are trying to combat. Maybe your system was already sticking and dipping pryer to carnivore, is that a possibility.
@@Carnivore1959 It's an approximation of what was available. I'm not saying drastic glucose spikes did not exist but there wasn't the frequency that is readily happening to most of the population of modern times. It's chronic inflammation at rapid succession.
@@Carnivore1959 You can get relatively high blood glucose from eating too much protein, but over 100 years ago people were not eating huge amounts of protein or carbs, nor were they typically eating 3+ times a day. They also tended to physically work harder. It is reasonable to assume most people did not have high blood glucose and there is certainly not evidence of significant metabolic disease. Except maybe for Egyptians (specifically Pharaohs), Peruvians, and Romans which coincidentally were higher grain diets.
If you want to know what an animal including humans need to eat, look at the teeth. We have teeth designed for eating meat, and we have teeth designed for eating plants. We do not have teeth designed to cope with a lot of processed slop and sugar.
I did full carnivore for two weeks and had two bowel movements that made me think I might have an impaction and need to go to the hospital! I didn’t, but it was close! A salad every few days isn’t a bad idea for me!
One word... Prebiotics! Good prebiotics feed your gut biome which Dr. Ekberg said is important in this video and you won't need to pop the probiotic pills. Good prebiotics can make good regular bowel movements. Onions are my secret weapon.
@@spierskalla Thanks! Yes, I usually chop up some onion and mix it with my hamburger or add it to the pan when frying steak , but I skipped it for awhile. I'll gladly add some onion back in!
I amT2D. I was told some years ago that in regards to sugar...the body itself if needed can create it's own sugar. Is this true. ? Great video by the way. It answered a lot of questions for me. In fact I have been T2D for 8 years and this is the first time I have really understood what is going on in my body. Thank you so much. By the way. My doctor found it strange when I asked her about blood sugar monitors. She got quite off actually. A bit spikey. She said I did not need fo do this just keep taking the meds and eat normal. Well I got a monitor because I want to see how my body reacts to different foods.....after exercise etc. Every diabetic is different. We might all react to foods differently. The good thing about the monitor is I can tailor my food...timing if meals to achieve what your second graph showed which is balance with no sugar spikes. Thank you 😊
For me, IMHO of course, this has got to be one of, if not the best video you've done. You wrap up all these complex subjects into a nice neat presentation I can take each portion of it and do a little deeper research into it without getting too far into the weeds. It's great how you present and give a little visual wrap up for everything. I haven't found anyone who has done this as well as you because you don't "assume" everyone who watches you has a biochemistry background. Very well done..... :)
I'm 67 and Type 2. Whenever my blood glucose reading is below 70 in the mornings, I drink a Ensure that has 9 or more mg of protein in it. For me, this is way better than eating something sugary. Ensure is portable and I take one with me everywhere I go. I also keep some beside my bed. My blood sugars are usually 70- 100 in the mornings before a meal and late in the afternoon before my evening meal, it runs anywhere from 150 to 220. My A1C runs between 6 and 7.3. When I was initially diagnosed as a diabetic my blood sugar was almost 900. I thought that my symptoms were due to me having high blood pressure and being anemic and working a demanding job. If I did everything that my Endocrinologist told me to do, I'd be dead by now. I go by how I feel, my glucose numbers and my blood pressure numbers.
Ensure is full of horrible ingredients!! Doctors suggest those and boost which is sad.. I'm gonna tell u like I tell my mommy bc y'all are the same age, 😅 look at those ingredients if you can't pronounce EVERY word in your food or drink don't eat it. Protein shakes> check out OWYN shakes. ALL the ingredients are clean, no hidden sugars or artificial sugars. Our bodys can't break that fake sugar down. You got this.. The shake I suggested doesn't taste as good as those thats bad for u because it's good for you... I loved Quest and Premier shakes prior to switching so I know the taste takes some getting used to, but fight through to get in your protein if doing a shake.. Also the ingredients to avoid in your shakes are corn maltodextrin, sugar, canola oil, cellulose gel, carrageenan, and soy protein...
I began with a Stelo CGM this week. It is providing valuable insights and hopefully I can get my glucose down to normal range. Basically, I’m not spiking much because I eat low carb, but my average baseline is over 100. Ordinarily, I don’t drink wine, but I did have 8 oz. as a test. It caused very little variation which surprised me. Then chicken salad resulted in a 30 point increase. So, I am learning a lot about my tolerance. It’s getting me to test, rather than make assumptions.
I sure do wish I could get my wife to watch your video. She really needs to hear this from somebody else besides me. She swears she hast to eat all that junk to keep up her energy.
@@vittoriovuocolo2438 My wife had stopped eating carbs after me and is doing 45 minutes exercise every day. She feel much better and her skin condition are improving.
Can't help but wonder how often those low energy feelings people have are actually caused by low electrolytes, and not so-called "low blood sugar" at all. Then, they go to sugars instead of taking salt and/or other necessary minerals, and then sadly begin the vicious blood sugar cycle in error.
Mine got to 25 one time. Luckily I worked at a hospital and I asked a fellow nurse why I was going blind good she checked my blood sugar ... she gave me a glucose tube back up under control
For the past 2 yrs I have been on mostly keto and IF but the recent blood work showed my a1c at an all time high of 5.8. Blood work is also showing I’m anemic but my iron, B12, folic acid are all higher than normal. Every doctor I spoke to at Kaiser said it’s not a problem and they will not test for my insulin levels or look into why I’m anemic because it’s not that severe 🤯 I don’t understand Kaiser, they want people to become super sick before they would do anything?? Can’t wait to change out of Kaiser next year.
Dr Ken Berry explained that if you are eating a more healthy diet, carnivore, I can’t remember if he also mentioned Keto, your blood cells are more healthy and lasting longer, so A1C may be slightly higher. You may want to check out his channel and search for A1c results , for a more concise explanation.
I am an RN. I had a patient with anemia, not iron deficiency, who Inherited a genetic disorder, Thalassemia minor, aka Mediterranean anemia. To rule this out, more blood tests are needed and a consultation from a hematologist. Can you ask your doctor for a consult with a specialist? If you female, you may use that as a reason for referral because you “may plan to get pregnant soon. “ Or if you have children, you want to know if they can have this trait. If you are male, you want to know because you could pass the disorder to a potential child. No need to worry much about this condition, my patient is a senior citizen, lived a great life, had children who are healthy. She just can’t donate blood. Iron is not the cure.

Yes, we should all take our advice about medical issues from a chiroquack rather than an endocrinologist or internist. Why not just get a "spinal adjustment" to fix our problems.

I seem to be leaning out (and losing fat again, but mostly because I do whole-day and two- or three-day fasts most weekends.)
I'm a bit baffled at this point.

7 days sound right, to get the body into that state where after that, one can continue with low carb/stabilized carb feeling really good about it.

That started in the 1980s
It started hyper obesity as well

One thing that didn't get mentioned that is destroying health in America is the problem of ultra-processed seed oils. Soy, canola, palm, etc etc - are basically oxidized industrial waste that might actually be worse than sugar in our diet.
It’s way worse than sugar.. so is high fructose corn syrup!
I decided to make use of those oils for their intended purpose the other day: I applied it to some squeaky door hinges!
Didn't realize it at the time, but when I was eating it, it was a major contributor to my heartburn.

Palm oil is fine. It is squeezed out of the fruit, like olive oil. You can find videos showing the process.
Have you tried OMAD(One Meal A Day) or intermittent fasting? Maybe it would help?

Thank you for helping me feeling healthier . You inspired me so much
The week isn't complete without a Friday video from Sten
Fantastic explanation. You can’t get this kind of honest info anywhere. Thank you doctor Berg.
He is Dr. Sten Ekberg
Thank you for all you do!
That was a pretty good summary. Thanks.

Such a shame and a sham that the endurance sports nutrition industry has perpetuated the carb myth for so long and so successfully.

If you’re doing strict carnivore, there is no fiber and very little waste produced, so you shouldn’t have a bowel movement every day.
Little mct oil in your coffee will cure that and much more
Thank you
😊
Please check out the low carbs and keto diet. After 3 months, my A1c dropped from 9.1 to 5.7. Will keep on doing that.
Love your videos doc. Thanks
@@MrNiecybee08yep, Ensure is full of chemicals with 10 grams of sugar and 33 carbs. Not a health alternative.
My wife is the same way. Always has excuses to eat candy and potato chips. She's grown I can only do so much.
@@vittoriovuocolo2438 My wife had stopped eating carbs after me and is doing 45 minutes exercise every day. She feel much better and her skin condition are improving.
Excellent info/advice as usual, Doctor
This is the best information given in a precise and concise manner! Thank you Dr Eckberg 🌹
I love your channel. I learned all this in college, but haven't used it. It's nice for it all to come back.
THANK YOU, DR. STEN EKBERG, FOR THIS EXCELLENT TUTORIAL VIDEO!!! MUCH APPRECIATED!!! ["SHARED"]
Can't help but wonder how often those low energy feelings people have are actually caused by low electrolytes, and not so-called "low blood sugar" at all. Then, they go to sugars instead of taking salt and/or other necessary minerals, and then sadly begin the vicious blood sugar cycle in error.
Best presentation on this topic I have ever seen. Thanks so much Doc
Love your videos.
Mine got to 25 one time. Luckily I worked at a hospital and I asked a fellow nurse why I was going blind good she checked my blood sugar ... she gave me a glucose tube back up under control
The best health advices.
He even has copycats from other doctors trying to replicate his success.
Thanks!
For the past 2 yrs I have been on mostly keto and IF but the recent blood work showed my a1c at an all time high of 5.8. Blood work is also showing I’m anemic but my iron, B12, folic acid are all higher than normal. Every doctor I spoke to at Kaiser said it’s not a problem and they will not test for my insulin levels or look into why I’m anemic because it’s not that severe 🤯
I don’t understand Kaiser, they want people to become super sick before they would do anything??
@@vanananag7736 thank you ‼️
I have been watching you for a while but even though I just watched this video I also downloaded it because I’m gonna play it for my friends up north I feel like I should listen to this video two or three or four times and memorize as much as I can because this is some of the most important medical information I’ve ever learned from RUclips in my life I know some of it, but I trustyou to be my health wellness expert guru I have so much I can learn from you
Swietnie, w zrozumiały sposób wyjaśniony cały proces
Yes, we should all take our advice about medical issues from a chiroquack rather than an endocrinologist or internist. Why not just get a "spinal adjustment" to fix our problems.
I'm looking forward to your future video on the fiber lie.
